Sadly, I’ve got a couple reviews on the Mac App Store with only one star. I really wish people would contact me before trashing my app. But in this case, maybe I deserve it. I can’t figure it out and I need their help. It isn’t effecting too many people, but I want Drone Station to “just work” for everyone. So please, please, please, if you are having this problem, let me know. I want to figure it out and make it right.
So far I’ve tried to recreate the problem by reconfiguring my Mac to ways that I thought would break Drone Station. I can’t break it. I’ve tried turning on the firewall, and shutting down access to even signed apps. I’ve tried logging on as users that don’t have full permissions. I’ve tried jamming the radio on my AR.Drone by putting it right next to my router. I’m running out of things to break it and still can’t figure it out.
I’ve got one guy working with me on it, I hope we figure it out.
I’ve tested Drone Station out on two different year MacBook Pros and an iMac running Snow Leopard and Lion. I’ve got a small group of beta testers saying it works for them. I can’t track it down to a model or OS version. This one has me stumped for now, but I won’t give up till it is fixed.
So again, please contact me if you are having the problem. If you can help me figure it out, I’ll give you a prize. .
UPDATE: Thanks to a couple of great drone flyers, we figured it out. There was a bug that prevented Drone Station from properly connecting to the MacBook Air WiFi interface. An update has been submitted to Apple and should be approved soon. If you have a WiFi USB dongle, it should still work for you.
